Built Green
Built Green Canada is a national, non-profit organization that delivers third-party certified sustainable building programs to residential builders. The organization offers programs for single family, renovations, and high density, with a communities program under development.
While energy efficiency is a fundamental component of these programs—integrating the EnerGuide label through Natural Resources Canada (applicable to Single Family and Renovations)—Built Green goes beyond energy to include materials & methods, indoor air quality, ventilation, waste management, water conservation, and business practices, moving the industry toward a more holistic approach to sustainable building practices. As such, home builders and their customers get a two-in-one: the BUILT GREEN® seal and the EnerGuide label, offering validation of the green features of the home.
Built Green Canada offers its home certification programs across the country; however, in Ontario, the programs are referred to as "Green Seal".
