Before shopping around for a contractor, my kitchen was old and decrepit. There were vermin crawling around because the house was built 4 decades prior to the remodel and upgrades needed to be made to bring the equipment in the kitchen into the modern era. Eventually after settling on a contractor, we drew up plans of what the kitchen could look like after about 2 weeks of renovations. They peeled up the linoleum, demolished the old cabinets, and removed the countertops. After peeling up the floor, they lifted up the plywood underneath and retrofitted all new pipes that would no longer leak. New cabinets and granite was installed instead of quartz. ideas here Once the two weeks and two days were up (due to unforeseen circumstances it took an extra two days), the kitchen was complete and the tools were removed. Now the kitchen looks amazing, the walls were painted and crown molding and a baseboard were added for an extra touch to bring the look and feel even further along. Though two weeks without access to a functioning kitchen was not ideal, the end result was well worth the money and time spent remodeling.
