Java City

Manufacturer/Supplier in Sacramento, California

The foundations of the City were based on the principles of responsibility to our community and to the earth as a whole. Since 1985, Java City has pioneered initiatives designed to enhance the global village, support the communities and protect the environment. Java City is proud to launch the Eco-Grounds program, an extensive line of coffees promoting a myriad of social and environmental issues, including improvement of farmers and workers standards of living, sustainable agriculture, and rainforest preservation. In addition, we continue to establish one-on-one relationships with farmers, teaching sustainable agricultural and processing practices while also looking to enhance the lives of the people who live and work in the coffee estates. We focus on the needs of the local community by donating coffee to homeless shelters and other non-profit organizations, as well as participating in charitable events throughout California and the country. Our products perpetuate our commitment to the environment. We use Java Jackets made from 100% recycled materials, cups and lids made from recycled manufacturing waste, and napkins made with 40% post consumer waste. Java Citys headquarters have an extensive recycling program and we donate our coffee bags to the Sacramento Zoo for reuse as animal bedding. In our City, we envision to extend best practices protecting the environment, managing waste, and helping preserve the world for future generations. We strive to incorporate social and environmental values when developing new products, determining our product mix, and creating programs focused on a better world and a better life for all of its inhabitants.
