PONOinfusions was created in 2010 by Alex and Andrea de Roode, a duo of tea drinkers devoted to the health and vitality of the people, plants, and animals of Hawai?i. We chose the name PONOinfusions to reflect our companys commitment to doing what is pono for Hawai?i, as well as for the welfare of our planet as a whole. The word pono, though it has multiple meanings in the Hawaiian language, often refers to the right thing to do. As PONOinfusions, we created five custom-blended infusions using certified organic and fair trade teas, herbs, flowers, and spices that both showcase and give back to the Hawaiian Islands we love. In alignment with our mission to do what is pono, we donate a portion of our sales to organizations that work to sustain and protect natural resources and threatened and endangered species in the Hawaiian Islands. We are proud members of 1% for the Planet and support these organizations through our membership! We source and deliver only the purest and highest quality teas and herbal infusions to our customers. Our ingredients are certified organic and (whenever possible) fair trade. This ensures that our infusions are produced using sustainable agricultural and processing practices, and that the communities and people involved in our supply chain are fairly compensated and treated with dignity and respect. Our packaging is made from high-recycled content cardboard, and both our inner and outer packaging are compostable. All inks we use in our packaging are 100% vegetable based and non-toxic. We as PONOinfusions look forward to providing you with healthy, delicious and conscientious infusions and carrying out our mission to do what is pono! As we continue to grow and evolve as a company, we will continue to collaborate and support organizations that actively give back and better our Island ohana and our planet.
