Royal Victoria Yacht Club
Service Provider in Victoria, British Columbia
The Royal Victoria Yacht Club was founded in June 1892 and is the oldest yacht club in western Canada. Our main clubhouse and marina is located on the protected waters of Cadboro Bay while our Tsehum Harbour marina is located in the nearby town of Sidney. Our club promotes yachting, boating, navigation, seamanship and offers racing, cruising, moorage, kayaks, stand up paddle boards, dining, themed events and much more. Fun for kids from two to one hundred and two. RVYC provides sailors with easy and affordable access to weekly club races, involvement with a variety of sailing fleets including dinghies and keel boats, and the opportunity to gain experience as crew in a variety of races and regattas. As the host club of the Swiftsure International Yacht Race, RVYC also allows members to participate in and assist with a premier yachting event. Power boaters and sailors have the opportunity to meet on informal cruises, or on the many organized Club cruises. Most of the cruises take place in the Gulf Islands. Annually, there are also summer cruises for destinations farther afield, such as the West Coast of Vancouver Island. RVYC has outstation facilities that members are able to book at no charge in Long Harbour on Salt Spring Island, in Friday Harbour on San Juan Island and in Shawl Bay in the Broughton Archipelago. RVYC members also have reciprocal privaledges with many other yacht clubs in the Pacific Northwest and elsewhere in the world.
