Ecotrust Canada

Ecotrust Canada is an award-winning, enterprising Canadian charity with offices in Vancouver and Prince Rupert, BC. In 2013, Charity Intelligence Canada selected Ecotrust Canada as one of the best managed environmental charities in Canada. Ecotrust Canada was also selected by the Coady International Institute at St. Francis Xavier University as a case study for successful citizen-led development. Ecotrust Canada is an enterprising nonprofit whose purpose is to build the conservation economy in coastal BC. We work at the intersection of conservation and community economic development. We promote innovation and provide services for communities. 2015 marked the completion of Ecotrust Canada’s fourth GHG inventory with Climate Smart. Ecotrust is committed to minimizing its carbon footprint through reducing business travel, purchasing recycled paper and office supplies and encouraging staff to commute by transit or bicycle. Starting this year, Ecotrust Canada will be offsetting its remaining carbon footprint by purchasing local offsets they helped to develop in the Cheakamus Community Forest co-owned by Whistler Municipality, Squamish and Lil’wat First Nations.
