IPS measured their baseline inventory emissions for their fiscal period, April 1st 2011 to March 31st 2012 and after conducting an assessment with a Business Energy Advisor through LiveSmart BC, IPS installed more energy efficient lights in their two offices. They also set an office rule to turn down the thermostat at the end of the day, and are working on improving their recycling program through educating the staff, training participants, and visitors on waste separation and composting. Staff are encouraged to walk, car-pool, bike and take the bus for transportation to the office. During this time period, their windows were replaced with energy efficient windows. IPS is also moving towards conducting more meetings and training sessions on-line to further reduce emissions.
