Service Provider in Port Moody, British Columbia

I was born and raised in Victoria, BC and have always had an interest in healthcare. When I was 17 years old my father passed away after a year-long battle with cancer. He spent the last week of his life in Hospice where he and my family received attentive and loving care from the staff. This was when I realized that health is so much more than just the absence of disease.  After completing my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, I considered a career as a midwife and joined a medical team in Guatemala. It was there that I was captivated by Naturopathic medicine and decided that this was my calling.

I have a general family practice with a special interest in women’s health, fertility and pregnancy.  I believe that knowledge is power, and I take care to listen to my patients and provide them with balanced information so that they can make informed decisions about their health and the health of their family.  I am a founding member of Birth Talks, a collective of local birth professionals who are passionate about creating opportunities for women to learn about their choices in childbirth.  We host events such as speaker series, documentary screenings and expert panel discussions with the goal of empowering women with knowledge so that they can birth their way.  I work closely with the fertility specialists at Olive Fertility Centre in Vancouver and the Pacific Centre for Reproductive Medicine (PCRM) in Burnaby.  I have helped many couples optimize their fertility for both natural and assisted (IUI or IVF) conception.  A large part of my practice involves working with women of all ages to help them attain a well-balanced life.  Hormone health is important for every woman, therefore I offer assessment and treatment of hormonal imbalance for fertility, menopause concerns, menstrual concerns, thyroid and adrenal health and many other endocrine disturbances.  Bio Identical hormone therapy is an extremely useful treatment, one that I am happy to offer my patients in addition to the standard Naturopathic modalities.  It is a joy to help my patients grow their families and to support them and their children through every stage of life.

In addition to working with women through the various stages of life, I also have a special focus on digestive health.  I have experience working with patients suffering from Crohn’s disease, Ulcerative Colitis, Celiac disease, IBS, GERD and many other digestive complaints, including food sensitivities.

I have been a member of the Quality Assurance Committee of the CNPBC (the Naturopathic licensing and regulating body) since 2010.  I am a guest instructor at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine and I love sharing my knowledge at various community events and such as Birth Talks Speaker Series, Kegels and Cocktails, Pomme Natural Market, the South Community Birth Program and the Vancouver Midwifery Group.

I truly believe in the innate healing power of the body and in the art and science of Naturopathic Medicine. I look forward to guiding you on your healing journey.  For more information, please visit my website www.drpeddle.com
